Painting in
Fernandina Beach.

Fernandina Beach brings together historic Victorian architecture, marsh humidity and Atlantic exposure. We approach each property according to its materials and location, from detailed woodwork in the historic district to coastal exterior systems closer to the beach.

Local knowledge

What the island does to paint here.

Victorian wood

Historic woodwork often carries many layers of coatings and detailed profiles. Sound preparation and careful repair are essential before repainting.

Two exposures, one island

Fernandina’s marsh-side humidity and beach-side salt exposure create different conditions. We select preparation and coatings based on where the property sits and what each elevation faces.

The historic district

Exterior changes in historic areas may require review. We can provide paint and coating information needed for the homeowner’s submission.

Porches and gingerbread

Turned posts, brackets, beadboard ceilings and detailed trim deserve careful brushwork and preparation rather than being treated like broad siding.

Fernandina Beach questions, answered.

What does painting cost in Fernandina Beach?−

Interior projects typically $4,800–$19,500 and exterior projects $7,200–$28,000. The scheduled estimate provides the actual project price.

Do you work with historic-district requirements?+

When exterior changes require review, we can provide the paint colors and coating information needed for the homeowner’s submission. Approval remains with the applicable review authority.

How do you handle old lead paint?+

Homes built before 1978 get lead-safe prep: containment, no open dry sanding, and a full cleanup at the end of every day. We talk it through when we scope the project so you know exactly what the plan is.

How often should a beach-side exterior be repainted?+

There is no fixed repaint cycle. Salt, sun, wind, substrate condition, prior preparation and the existing coating system all affect how long an exterior performs.

Can you match the existing color after a repair or addition?+

Yes. We pull the match from a protected surface rather than a faded one, and we spray out a sample on the wall before committing, because fading means the can color and the wall color are rarely the same.

Can you work while we are living in the house?+

Yes, most of our interior work is in occupied homes. Rooms are contained, cleaned and reset every day, and the schedule is agreed before we start.
