FAQ
Everything people ask before hiring a painter on the First Coast, answered the way we answer them on the phone. If yours is not here, call — the estimate is free and so is the conversation.
Interiors typically run $2.45 to $5.50 per square foot and exteriors $3.05 to $6.90, driven by prep, substrate and finish level. The full table and a ten-second calculator are on our pricing page, published, not gated.
Yes. Your estimate is free and carries no obligation. We’ll take the time to understand your project, evaluate the surfaces, and clearly define the scope before providing your price.
Never to get an estimate. If a job requires any payment schedule, it is written into the estimate before you sign, so nothing about money is a surprise.
Prep, surface repairs, materials, the number of coats and cleanup, with assumptions spelled out. Anything excluded is excluded in writing, not discovered later.
Because gating a range loses the people who came to find it, and because a company confident in its numbers has no reason to hide them. Your scheduled estimate turns the range into your exact price.
Prep is most of the job: wash, scrape, repair, sand, prime. It is listed line by line in the estimate so you can see exactly what you are paying for before a drop of color goes on.
Our main products are Sherwin-Williams Emerald®: Emerald® Rain Refresh™ for exteriors, Emerald® Urethane Trim Enamel for trim and Emerald® Designer Edition™ for walls. The right system for each surface and its exposure is named in the estimate, and we do not swap products after the quote.
Yes. Knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel or smooth — the patch gets textured to disappear before it gets painted, and we sample it dry before committing.
Coverage is specified, not eyeballed. If a color needs a third coat to hold, it gets one, and the estimate already said so.
Homes built before 1978 get lead-safe prep: containment, no open dry sanding, and a full cleanup at the end of every day.
Timelines depend on the size and condition of the project and the preparation required. The schedule is in the written estimate, and weather moves it with a phone call, not a silence.
Yes, most of our interior work is in occupied homes. Rooms are contained, cleaned and reset every day, and the schedule is agreed before we start.
No. Many clients hand us a key or a code. Every stage is photographed and decisions can be approved by phone, so you can follow the work from wherever you are.
Exterior work pauses and you get a call the same day with the new schedule. Interiors continue. Weather is the one thing allowed to move a date.
Daily, not end-of-job. Floors clear, drops folded, walkways open every evening. The last day looks like we were never there, except for the paint.
Yes. Restoration is half our work: drywall, trim and repaint after a leak or a storm, documented so your insurance has what it needs.
Yes. We prepare the color and sheen submission with you and confirm what needs sign-off before any work is scheduled, so nothing gets painted twice.
Yes. We schedule between turnovers, contain and clean daily, and photograph before and after so you can see every unit without driving out.
Yes. We pull the match from a protected surface rather than a faded one, and we spray out a sample on the wall before committing.
Ask it at your estimate. It is free, it carries no obligation, and it usually takes less than an hour.
